Amalfi gives its name to the Amalfi Coast, the prestigious and renowned stretch of coast in Campania that overlooks the Gulf of Salerno, named by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site, and is one of the most well-known towns in the world.
Amalfi boasts a noble past, as it was one of the four Maritime Republics and, by tradition, every year its rowers participate in the historical re-enactment of the Regatta of the Ancient Maritime Republics, challenging the cities of Genoa, Pisa and Venice.
Its Sicilian-Byzantine style Cathedral, whose entrance is preceded by a long and characteristic staircase is dedicated to Saint Andrew patron of the city. Together with the precious Amalfi Paper, it is one of the symbols that fall within the iconography of the city and in the collective imagination as an element and symbol of recognition.
But, more than anything and without any doubt, it is the landscapes and panoramas that leave you breathless and remain imprinted in the memory of anyone who comes to visit this wonderful village by the sea.
On returning from a mini-tour, we could not help but photograph this wonderful corner of paradise and Salvatore, our driver, could not resist taking a selfie with the crystal clear sea in the background!
